🌷 Happy Spring! 🌷 It’s *almost* wildflower 🌷 Happy Spring! 🌷 It’s *almost* wildflower season, and I can’t wait to go on the hunt for these beauties!

The best time to view wildflowers at lower elevations is typically April-May. At higher elevations though (like in the Rocky Mountain of Colorado where I’m based), July-August is usually peak wildflower season.

Where will you try to track down some wildflowers this year???

I’ve always been c̶h̶e̶a̶p̶ frugal. 🤑 So I’ve always been c̶h̶e̶a̶p̶ frugal. 🤑 So I’m all about saving money, especially on healthy, organic foods since they’re more expensive.

One way I like to do that is by making my own oat flour. My hubby has a big sweet tooth. 🦷 So to keep him from the temptation of refined sugar, I make a lot of homemade desserts and sweet snacks that are refined sugar-free.

Many of the recipes call for almond flour, which we love. But let’s be honest... it’s pricey! 💰 Instead, I like to do oat flour in place of almond flour. The consistencies are similar, and oat flour is much more affordable.

And to save even more money, I make my own homemade oat flour. 🌾 It’s crazy quick and easy, not to mention much more affordable than pre-made oat flour.

INSTRUCTIONS:
All you have to do is add rolled oats to a food processor, hit “Purée,” let the food processor work it’s magic, and voilà! ✨ Homemade oat flour!

Wanna know my favorite sweet recipes that use oat flour? Drop a 🙋‍♀️ in the comments, and I’ll DM you the links!

Would you take the plunge... the cold plunge, that Would you take the plunge... the cold plunge, that is? 🥶

The outside temp was around 20 F degrees. The temp of the hot springs pools was over 100 F degrees. And the temp of this cold plunge pool was only about 40 F degrees.

After soaking in the hot springs, I somehow managed to force myself to take the cold plunge (briefly... haha!).

Here are some reasons why you may want to try a cold plunge:

💦 𝟭𝟴 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗹𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗲 💦

1. Increases lymphatic drainage
2. Reduces inflammation
3. Improves circulation
4. Boosts immune system
5. Lowers stress levels + anxiety
6. Boosts mood
7. Improves sleep
8. Increases energy
9. Improves focus + concentration
10. Aids in weight loss by boosting metabolism
11. Improves skin + hair
12. Improves physical performance
13. Speeds up physical recovery
14. Relieves pain
15. Improves flexibility + range of motion
16. Stabilizes blood sugar levels
17. Improves lung + liver function
18. May help with fertility by affecting testosterone levels + sperm counts

Don’t have an icy pool nearby? Try a cold shower, or an ice bath if you’re really brave.

You can start by turning the water to cold at the end of your shower, and give yourself 15 seconds under the chilly cascade for a week. Then over the course of 2-4 weeks, gradually work your way up to 60 seconds.

Remember to breathe! Before you turn the water temp down, take some deep breaths inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.

❗𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚: A cold plunge can cause a sudden and high increase in heart rate and blood pressure. This could be dangerous for people with heart disease, high blood pressure, or risk of stroke. Talk to your doctor first!

#ToxinFreeTuesday - Let’s talk about 𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀.

An easy toxin-free swap you can make is replacing your antiperspirant with an 𝗮𝗹𝗹-𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹, 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝘁𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗰 𝙙𝙚𝙤𝙙𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙩.

Traditional antiperspirants are full of toxins and endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) that wreak havoc your hormones including:

❌ 𝗔𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗺 - genotoxic, cytotoxic, and neurotoxic heavy metal associated with Alzheimer’s Disease and a suspected carcinogen
❌ 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 - cocktails of toxic chemicals including phthalates and carcinogens like formaldehyde
❌ 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗻𝘀 - artificial preservatives and EDCs that harm reproductive health and increase the risk of cancer (found in 99% of breast cancer tissue in a study)
❌ 𝗣𝗵𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 - carcinogenic EDCs linked to cancer, reproductive issues, infertility, miscarriage, birth defects, developmental delays, autism spectral disorder, asthma, and more
❌ 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝘆𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗚𝗹𝘆𝗰𝗼𝗹 - petroleum-based chemical associated with neurological, cardiovascular, and respiratory issues
❌ 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗻 - antimicrobial EDC that can transform into carcinogenic chemicals, is harmful to gut health, and linked to reproductive problems

You don’t really want to apply those nasties on your sensitive underarm skin, do you? Yeah, didn’t think so.

Toss your toxin-laden antiperspirant and start using a natural deodorant instead. Wondering which one you should switch to?

Check out @primallypure! I adore their products and use their deodorants. If you want to give them a try, 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗡𝗗𝗨10 𝗳𝗼𝗿 10% 𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗣 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗶𝗼 ➡ 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘀. #ad

And while you’re at it, also grab your 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘄𝗮𝗽𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗯𝗶𝗼 to check off toxic items as you swap them out with toxin-free alternatives!

As a BONUS, the Checklist also includes discounts as well as what to look for versus what to avoid, making it super easy for you to start ridding your life of toxins. Score!

Start converting to a toxin-free lifestyle today to reduce your toxin load, one toxic item at a time.
